Prevent Jon Stewart from leaving the Daily Show until after the 2016 Presidential Election

Political Satire is protected speech under the 1st Amendment, and is a mainstay of today’s American Democracy. Freedom lovers around the world look to Jon Stewart’s irreverent take on the main-stream media’s coverage of world events, particularly in regards to American politics. On August 6, 2015, Jon Stewart--the nation’s beloved and respected satirist--will retire from The Daily Show. The Democratic Party has seemingly pre-ordained Hillary Clinton to be Barack Obama’s successor, and the GOP circus tent is filling with outlandish candidates by the day. Jon Stewart’s “Indecision 2016” satirical voice is needed now more than ever. With this petition, we implore the White House to prevent Jon Stewart from leaving The Daily Show until after the 2016 Presidential Election.
