Large corporations, such as AT&T, are getting rid of their senior employees by firing and making them leave for unjust reasons. I was fired for sickness and they turn around and say it was because 'I did not return during an unapproved absence.' All three of my doctors advised against going back to work and spoke with AT&T by phone and faxed medical documents. They claim they had no knowledge of my sickness. The driving force behind this is to avoid paying me a larger pension and health care as was negotiated in our union contract for my job title. Now they hire people under a different job title 'SERVICE CONSULTANT' with no pension and no benefits. IBEW LOCAL 21 went along with this under the guise of it saved jobs BUT it did not...it lowered the quality of jobs.
