Larry Summers has been rumored to be the front runner for the position of Chairman of the Federal Reserve. This despite the fact that most pundits and citizens believe he would be a terrible Chairman. Matthew Phillips of "Quartz" states 3 reasons why he should not be the Fed Chairman among them:
1. His push to deregulate the financial system during the 1990's.
2. His squelching of efforts by Brooksley Born and others to regulate derivatives in the 1990's.
3.His short-sightedness about the possibility of a financial crisis.
These reasons including his poor leadership at Harvard should be more than enough to disqualify him as the head of the world's largest economy.
We implore President Obama to disqualify Larry Summers for the position of Chairman of the Federal Reserve.
