A PETITION to prevent losing the valuable and essential 217th Intelligence Training Squadron. The U.S. Department of Defense will discontinue the operation of the Texas Air National Guard, 217th Intelligence Training Squadron located at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas as of September 30, 2013. The mission of the 217th Squadron is to train military personnel in intelligence gathering, analysis, interdiction and counter-insurgence. It is the only facility of its kind in the U.S. Military. Our nation cannot afford the loss of this valuable asset jeopardizing our national security. We respectfully request that everyone sign this petition in opposition to the elimination of the 217th Intelligence Training Squadron.
