Preventing former congress members from returning as lobbyists after only one year. Increase the penalty for violation.
Currently members of Congress can leave that position and then become a lobbyist after only one year. This should be never. Senators Al Franken and Michael Bennet have introduced a bill "the Close the Revolving Door Act" but should read "lifetime" not just 6 years. In 6 years their old Colleagues will still be there waiting for them. They return and push their personal agendas without the public's knowledge and almost always working for big corporations.
