Prevent the merger of Time-Warner Cable and Comcast to protect U.S. consumers from the monopoly it would create.

Created by J.M. on May 10, 2014

Comcast is trying to win over regulators reviewing its controversial merger with Time Warner Cable. This would create a cable television/internet service provider monopoly not seen since the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890. As is, the new Consumers Union (part of Consumer Reports) survey shows Comcast & Time Warner Cable are 2 of the 3 least liked pay TV providers in the U.S. An example of their well-honed lobbying campaign is the highlighting of their program offering Internet to low-income families, yet only 300,000 consumers out of 2.6 million eligible are qualifying due to restrictive application methods. The program only gives consumers and their children the lowest possible internet connection speed.
