Prevent Nature Deficit Disorder (NDD)

Created by R.D. on April 25, 2014

NDD is a description of the human effects of alienation from nature. Our brains are not capable of the fast growing electronic world. The possible following symptoms: Attention problems , Obesity, anxiety and depression. These symptoms can develop early in children by following their parents or succumbing to the new horrifying norm of toddlers with iPhones and Instagrams.

Society needs to incorporate nature back into schools. If children are exposed to the importance of nature and our environment at a young developing age, the child will be more inclined to keep it in mind in their future.

““An environment-based education movement--at all levels of education--will help students realize that school isn't supposed to be a polite form of incarceration, but a portal to the wider world.” -R
