Prevent privatization of the Postal Service which has provided affordable and dependable mail service for all Americans

Created by S.H. on September 29, 2011

For generations the United States Postal Service has served all Americans. Privatization will result in loss of service to rural areas, lost jobs, and increased costs.

In 2006, Congress directed the USPS to pre-fund retirement costs for the next 75 years by 2016. This unreasonable demand has depleted its funds. Rescinding this demand we make of no other entity would allow the USPS to recover on its own. In 2010, the USPS had $67 billion in revenue.

The USPS, the second largest US employer, receives no public monies.
