Prevent the proposed project "Blue Dunes" from commencing. A dramatic change to New Jersey and New York's coast line.

Created by J.S. on March 29, 2014

The proposal is to develop a string of artificial islands to act as a barrier island for New Jersey and New York. This proposal will only minimize the effects of hurricane wave damage and storm surge. This proposal will not prevent sea level rise, which is projected to rise 4 to 5 feet by 2100. A list of the negatives will be listed below. Lets band together and prevent this proposal before it becomes a reality.

-Surfing along New Jersey and New York coastlines will be nonexistent
-Fish and marine mammal migrations will be severely interrupted
-Existing habitats in the proposed locations will be destroyed
-Recreational and commercial fishing will be negatively impacted
-Tourism industry will decline
-Marine related business will decline
-Oceanfront real estate property will decline
