prevent retailers from opening stores on Thanksgiving so that everyone gets the day off to spend with their families!

Created by V.V. on November 27, 2013

Everyone deserves a holiday!

Retailers are just growing greedier by the year. Black Friday has now morphed into a Black Thursday. Store openings have crept well into the Thanksgiving Day with some opening their doors as early as 6 a.m.

This is not fair to all the staff that have to be away from their families on Thanksgiving. Sure, the staff could be significantly rewarded, but isn't very moral to keep them away from their families. It defeats the purpose of Thanksgiving.

As consumers, we are constantly on the lookout for deals and certainly appreciate the extra hours of discounts/deals. But, a change has to happen so that everyone gets to enjoy the holiday. This change is also fair to those retailers who respect the holiday and give the day off to their staff keeping their doors closed
