As Russian forces are gathering close to the Ukrainian boarder, we would like to remind the administration of a promise made by the United States of America, United Kingdom, and Russia.
This promise was made on December 5, 1994 with the Budapest Memorandum. It states that the aforementioned countries will: "...respect the Independence and Sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine." and "... refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, and that none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine except in self-defense..."
We are concerned that these promises are about to be violated by Russia. We strongly urge the President to take action and help protect the unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
