It is common for the incumbent President to sell tickets to special dinners and events as a fundraiser. However, it's been taken to a new extreme with the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. The current Administration has decided "special access" (that is a quote in the AP) to the Office of the President is now for sale to the richest Americans, lobbyists and corporations. This erodes the concept of a government of the people by restricting access to the President to only those who can afford it. Our President's time should not be a commodity to be sold.A law needs to be enacted by Congress to restrict donations or address the issue of any incumbent President from selling their time to contributors.
