As the Commander in Chief and the Chief Executive Officer of the United States, it is Inappropriate for the President of the United States to comment on pending or completed judicial cases while holding the office. Due to the great influence the President has, comments on judicial cases made by the office can negatively impact the ability of the accused/defendant to receive a fair trial as protected by the Constitution. Comments made after a case are also harmful, as the respect for the judicial system can be compromised. Comments made by the President when facts are unknown are disrespectful to the Office, the People, and the United States of America as a whole. Discretion must be exercised when holding positions of power, and the President should not be immune to this.
