Prevent speculation in oil as a commodity. Hedgefunds are artificially driving up the cost for gasoline and fuel oils.

Created by G.I. on October 27, 2011

Since the Bush administration began scheduled purchases to replenish the strategic oil reserves, the cost for crude oil has skyrocketed. Hedgefunds manipulate oil prices on a daily basis driving up the cost for fuels. They do not take posession of the fuel, and they don't provide any processing, they just add to the costs. We see these costs everytime we use fuel; gasoline for the car, heating oil for the home, airline tickets and shipping costs. Everything that uses fuel is artifically inflated at our expense. If that is not bad enough, their profits are only subject to a 15% tax.
