Prevent States from Using Prison Inmates to Replace "Illegal Immigrants" in Manual Labor (Such as Field Picking)

Created by C.B. on November 20, 2011

Certain states (like Louisiana and Colorado) are bringing down the hammer on illegal immigrants working on farms and replacing them with prison inmates who are paid grossly small wages.

The sheer stupidity that must be required in order to think that replacing hard-working, honest people (the majority of whom only want what's best for their families) with chain-gang criminals is a good idea has to be immense.

Immigrants are only trying to make a living, and the desperate resort to prison inmates for a cheap source of labor signals how much their work efforts are truly valued in this country. A lot of issues need to be considered here, including the morality of departing those who are only sneaking into America because they value the opportunities it offers.

P.S. Colbert told you so.
