Prevent stores from opening on Thanksgiving evening, allowing workers and shoppers to celebrate Thanksgiving with family

Created by B.T. on November 26, 2015

Thanksgiving is a holiday centered around spending time with family and loved ones. Every year stores open earlier and earlier with black Friday sales that now start during Thanksgiving dinner. Many workers are forced to work on Thanksgiving and shoppers are tempted to leave their family and friends to try and get a good deal. Black Friday shopping is a time for Americans to shop for holiday presents and boosts the economy at the same time. However, this can be accomplished without cutting into the time we spend with family and friends. We urge President Obama to take action and stop stores from opening on Thanksgiving and pulling people away from loved ones.
