prevent the University of California Irvine from banning the American Flag, our nations symbol, from their campus

Created by A.W. on March 08, 2015

The University of California Irvine has decided to ban the American flag from an inclusive space on their campus. This is a blatant disrespect to our nation and our nations symbol. This disrespects every soilder, marine, airman, and seaman that have fought and died for our flag.

The bill, R50-70, was authored by Social Ecology Representative Matthew Guevara, and accuses all flags, especially, the American flag, of being “symbols of patriotism or weapons for nationalism.”

The American flag is not a weapon and never has been, it represents everything this country stands for now and to come. The right way to spread cultural diversity is through adding other nations flags that represent their student body. If they are in America they should honor the flag and fly it proudly.
