Prevent unnecessary violence by placing trained guard dogs on school campuses, instead of arming educators.

Created by T.L. on January 15, 2013

Instead of arming educators and other school personnel to act in the case of a shooting at the school's campus, use military and K-9 dogs to patrol the school itself. The large number of war dogs returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq and who will have no future can be used while new dogs are trained. Humane Society shelters are full of potential candidates to guard our children and their care and training is less expensive in human cost than arming teachers would be. Guard dogs also have better sight, sense of smell and can detect a real threat in a more efficient manner than untrained humans can, and are sociable and friendly with children. Their upkeep is also less expensive and are a more effective solution to other issues affecting our schools, since they can also detect drugs, etc.
