To prevent violence disrupting the Election process

Created by G.N. on April 29, 2016

Certain fringe groups feel that they are entitled to use violence to disrupt political gatherings whose aims they disagree with. This is contrary to civil discourse and a threat to democracy.

I propose that the political party supported by any group which resorts to campaigns of violence or intimidation in order to quell an opposing candidate's message shall forfeit 10% of the votes cast for their candidate in the ensuing election.

Votes forfeited for this reason shall not be transferred to any other candidate - they shall simply be as if not cast.
