Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has proposed a spending plan that will make military pay raises smaller, it will also cut the housing allowance military and the health benefits members receive. This spending plan will also affect the pay that veterans get.
It's understandable that the Defense Department must make difficult decisions when it comes to budget decisions. However, budget cuts like these would hit service members hard, especially those lower in the ranks, Making it harder for them and their families to make ends meet.
The military members go to war for our country, fight for it, sometimes die for it, to protect it, the people who live here and our freedom. Don't punish them while those in office get paid thousands more than those in the lower ranks do.
