Prince Rogers Nelson was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor best known for integrating a wide variety of styles, including funk, rock, R&B, soul, hip hop, disco, psychedelia, jazz, and pop into a hybrid mixture called "Minneapolis sound". Prince has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He won seven Grammys, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the first year of his eligibility. The music legend Prince recently passed away on April 21, 2014.
