The public has a right to know how much we are paying our elected officials. Any employer will ask a potential employee what his/her salary requirements are before the decision is made to hire that person. A official's salary should be predetermined BEFORE they are elected and should be locked in for the duration of that official's term with no bonuses.
Publishing the salary requirements next to the candidate's name at the voting booth will let the people make the decision if the candidate is really worth what he/she is asking for in salary.
This transparency will allow voters to start taking some control over where our tax dollars are spent.
