There has been a lot of talks lately to give illegal immigrants in the United States a path to permanent residency then eventually a path to citizenship. But it seems that a lot of people, especially the politicians, are forgetting that there are also a lot of legal non-immigrants currently in the United States whose permanent residency application is still being processed by the USCIS. This process can take more than 5 years and some even more than 10 years. These legal non-immigrants whose permanent residency applications are still being processed or pending have been doing their best to maintain their legal status and fully abide by the rules and laws of the United States to prevent their permanent residency application from being denied. They should be given priority!
