Why should school children have to pay for lunch while prisoners get 3 meals a day for committing crimes?
Making prisoners work in industries such as manufacturing or building a trade can benefit them when they are released from prison. Resulting in the deterrence of former inmates committing further crimes.
Meanwhile the prisoners are learning the meaning of hard labor, showing that they have to work in order to survive like the rest of the United States.
