Private prisons are not the answer. Push for reform for both officers and inmates.

Created by L.M. on July 23, 2014

Our prisons are overcrowded and understaffed. Recidivism is staggering and the United States ranks highest in the world for incarceration per capita. Privatizing will only create a "for profit," entity that will concern itself with filled beds. Reform is needed to keep dedicated officers who adhere to one of the incarceration theories, which is rehabilitation. The 5th and 14th amendments should apply (due process). Government should not expect private entities to adhere to discretionary protocol.
