Privatization of the United States Postal Service

For years the USPS has run at a loss, as evident by the rising cost of stamps and the loss of post offices and personnel nationwide. Due to this annual loss, the government is forced to supplement the USPS budget with additional tax dollars, thereby creating a money pit for all tax payers. Already numerous companies exist to take over the postal service without change while providing competition to keep costs down and likely even decreasing costs to those who utilize the service. Such privatization would help the government deficit by removing the cost of overseeing the USPS; and by generating new private sector jobs and additional business, which thereby increases tax revenue for the government. Such taxes represent a profit while revenue from the USPS equates to, at best, an even break.
