Whereas the United States Postal Service [USPS] has reached its borrowing limit from the US Treasury and is not expected to pay back those loans, this petition respectfully requests that the executive branch pursue legislation that would privatize the USPS and truly force the agency to become fiscally sound and responsible. The federal government simply cannot afford to continue to "bail-out" the USPS when it is running its own unsustainable deficits. Privatization would free the federal government of a costly burden and allow it to focus on more pressing matters.
