We, the undersigned, support a real ban on the sale of all military style assault weapons, including those that are automatic and semi-automatic, all their components, clips, magazines and ammunition. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's proposal (D-Calif.) does not go far enough. The exceptions provided for in the previous Assault Weapons ban should not be allowed in this law.
All existing assault weapons should be required to be registered, including any transfers of ownership of the whole or any part of existing weapons.
All existing weapons should be required to be locked in secure gun safes and to have individual trigger locks in place on each weapon. Owners found to have unregistered or unlocked weapons will be criminally liable if their weapon is used in a crime.
