Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) affects the "glue" that holds the body together. It is similar to Marfan Syndrome, which is considered a disability and listed in the Social Security Administration’s (SSA’s) “Blue Book,” or 20 CFR Part 404, Subpart P, Appendix 1 (http://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/4.00-Cardiovascular...).
The Vascular Type is the most dangerous type because it causes the blood vessels, organs, arteries, intestines, etc to tear easily.
The Hypermobility Type (EDS-HT) is the most painful; the joints have subluxations, or move beyond the "Normal" Range of Motion (abnormal motion). For many of us, this is in SSA’s “Blue Book” under “1.02 Major Dysfunction of a Joint(s) (Due to any cause).”
