July 21st marks the birthday of Robin Williams, beloved performer and philanthropist. In his support of good causes, he not only gave his money, but also his unbounded time and energy. More than 30 nonprofit organizations, including the USO, received his remarkable support. He made helping humanity a way of life and his unassuming generosity set an example for all to follow.
It is with his example in mind that we, the undersigned, propose July 21st be proclaimed henceforth as National Day of Giving, in honor of Mr. Robin Williams. We wish this to be a day not only to memorialize Mr. Williams, but to encourage others to actively follow in his footsteps, aiding those in need, working for the good of all humanity and making the world a better place.
