On June 6, 1944 forces stormed the Normandy Beaches to lead Good over Evil, Freedom over Tyranny, Hope over Despair, & in doing so paid the ultimate price. D-Day serves as a testament to the protection of rights & freedoms, as well as to leadership, training, execution & perseverance in the face of the most rigorous challenges.
56 year old Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt Jr landed on Utah Beach armed with a handgun and walking with a cane, advancing side-by-side with kids and young men as part of the first wave, each of whom sacrificed their lives or innocence. We owe our freedoms to them.
We must honor these men, let their deeds inspire greatness & frame our hope for unrevealed Roosevelts amongst us that will embolden us to overcome the barriers we face as a nation and a people.
