Please issue a Proclamation to honor the victims of the Chattanooga shootings by ordering all US Flags to be flown at half-staff for a period of 24 hours on the earliest possible date. Precedence for this honor, in such extraordinary situations, includes: Proclamations 4756 (Desert One, Iran, 1980), 5121 (Marine Barracks, Beirut, 1983), 5960 (USS IOWA turret explosion, 1989), 6906 (Khobar Towers, Saudi Arabia, 1996), 7362 (USS COLE, 2000), 8451 (Ft Hood, 2009) and 8861 (Benghazi, 2012).
