produce legislation that provides resources for increasing access to affordable mental health care for all citizens.

Created by J.H. on December 15, 2012

In the wake of recent tragedy the debate regarding gun control policies and legislation has been renewed. There is, however, another conversation that we should have, one concerning the availability of mental health care. Affordable mental health care is not equally or accessibly distributed throughout our nation, and the institutions that do provide this care have very limited resources. Similarly, the stigma associated with mental illness continues to prevent many from seeking the help and care that they need. Legislation addressing the need for resources, combined with a bi-partisan campaign that addresses the stigma of mental illness, could make a real and tangible difference in terms of addiction, violence, law enforcement, and quality of life for all Americans.
