Whereas professional truck drivers have performed their duties for decades using crank-operated landing gear/legs technology to drop and hook commercial semi trailers;
Whereas the operation of such is causing the majority of back/shoulders upper limb disorders translating into costly Work Compensation Claims for employers as well as tax-payers;
Whereas the operation of such is time consuming causing significant carbon footprints;
We, the undersign therefore petition to have the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration investigate and, regulate the progressive abolition of crank-operated trailer landing gear/legs to replace it with proven and available automated pneumatic, hydraulic and/or electric technology.
