That programs for Suicide Prevention and Self Harm affecting teens be reformed and new ones created to help more teens.

Created by J.W. on June 22, 2013

Everyday so many teens across our country suffer from self harm and suicidal thoughts and are completely ignored. They don't want to speak up because they don't want the label of "cutter" "suicidal" "attention seeker" and many more. I know that we can't make people change their opinions about it but we need to do something to help teens who suffer everyday in silence. Telephone hotlines aren't enough I know I called many times and they didn't help me, and I attempted to commit suicide. After spending eleven days in a hospital I realized that if we had programs like in the hospital available through our schools and cites teens would have that opportunity to actually go to someone that can help them in their time of need. Teen mental health is a very serious issue that needs to be addressed!
