Progress the movement of cannabis decriminalization and legalization in Texas.

Created by C.B. on May 07, 2014

We, the people of Texas, vote to legalize cannabis consumption and distribution in Texas. We feel that the government would benefit greatly from this in tax revenue alone, as statistics from Colorado's sales shows us. This has the potential to control the recession that we're trying to climb out of. In the first year Colorado made about 10 million dollars in tax revenue, which went to the Colorado community like schools, police departments, and fire departments. This could change our economic situation substantially. Also, legalization of the consumption of cannabis would benefit our justice system. The people whom are in jail for marijuana possession could then be released, which would free some space in the city jails for people who commit hostile and dangerous crimes. And much more.
