I in general agree that our cultures are different, (I being from the northwest) and that this difference has become a major source of pain and agony for both sides. As much as they want to succeed, I as much want them to succeed.
Many of these states take more from the U.S Treasury than they give. Also, many residents of these states tend to believe war is the only option to every conflict, along with an unbridled conviction in a Darwinian like capitalistic system.
Thus, because of these belief systems many of their representatives in our congress favor a bloated military industrial complex, no taxes for the rich, no taxes for corporations and tend to push policies that are exclusive and racist in nature.
