The draft has not been used in over 35 years. It was implemented during a time of crisis when World Wars were happening and conscription was necessary. To say that we are implementing it in an effort to make sure women are treated fairly is incorrect. First we should guarantee equal pay and equal rights for women in the workplace, outside of the military, before making them fight to guarantee the rights that they are still NOT currently afforded. To have women subject to conscription is unjust and discriminatory.
