Alcohol use is associated with addiction, liver disease, and cognitive impairment. Simply put, it is not a benign drug.
We call upon the White House and the Office of National Drug Control Policy to push for a federal law prohibiting the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors. With over a million drunk-driving arrests per year, this measure is vital for public health and safety; furthermore, imprisoning all who use this drug will be a boon to American families, particularly in impoverished and minority communities. Historical evidence shows that a war on alcohol will also greatly reduce crime, not just domestically but also in countries from which we import the drug.
It is imperative that the government restrict all drugs as dangerous as alcohol.
