Prohibit cellphone companies from charging so called "activation fees" when selling a phone.

Created by M.B. on July 01, 2014

For consumers buying a cellphone, we believe that the process should be straightforward and honest. The company should clearly state to consumers how much the phone will cost them, as well as how much the plan will cost. And if there are other fess, what they are and why they're necessary.

When a company claims that a new phone will cost, say for example, $199 on a contract, they should need to explain why it costs thirty to forty dollars to activate it. It's unimaginable that it costs the company money to transfer your number from an old phone (especially on the same carrier) to a new one. And if the company cannot bear the cost of subsidizing your new phone without charging you an extra "fee" as well, they should just include that iit into the price of the phone.
