Prohibit Colleges from forcing students to live on campus.

Created by .. . on November 20, 2012

The vast majority of colleges in America require Freshmen students to live in dormitories on campus. While the administrators of those colleges may think that it would benefit the students and teach them how to be in a community, it also would prevent them from learning how to be independent. Also, students learn to be in a community not by sharing rooms and/or residences with other people, but by collaborating on projects with other students and simply by socializing during their free hours, and even by being in a classroom with others.

What is the purpose of forcing students to deal with harsh living conditions, and charging extra if a student wants privacy by not having to share a room? It is unfair and inhumane. Students should have the right to chose where they reside.
