Recently the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act was filibustered because of a provision in the bill, unrelated to the main purpose of the bill, which was ethically objectionable to Democrats, regarding the fact that funds were to be blocked for use in abortions. It is obvious that Republicans knew the abortion language would be objectionable to Democrats, so hid the language in the provision.
Please prohibit the use of provisions which have nothing to do with the main purpose of the bill. Please require that no provision be allowed to be incorporated that includes language suspected to be objectionable to either Democrats or Republicans without a statement of NOTICE within the document drawing attention to said provision. This is effectively outlawing the use of "hidden" provisions.
