A new Congressional Budget office report is exploring the possibility of cutting back federal employees' pay raises and pensions. They are considering requiring employees to contribute and additional 1.2 % of their salaries, as well as lowering cost of living adjustments. Federal employees have not received a pay raise in three years while increases to their health insurance and cost of living have continued. Asking them to contribute more to retirement and reducing cola adjustments will only put more of a burden on already struggling families. Federal employees have endured furloughs, a shutdown and no pay raises while congress continues to be unaffected. Please stop using federal employees as the answere to every budget problem.
