This petition seeks to prevent employers from accessing the credit histories of job applicants and subsequently refusing employment on credit history. Employers are using credit histories as a means of choosing between applicants or basically denying employment. An applicant's credit history is a poor forecaster of whether the applicant if hired would be an asset to the company. A person otherwise qualified deserves a fair chance of being hired. As of the 2008-9 crash of the economy in the United States many unemployed persons are unable to meet financial obligations. The outsourcing of American jobs and the reduction of available blue collar jobs due to the advancement.
