Prohibit employers from requiring consumer reports (credit checks) for potential employees in periods of high unemployment.
Many of the long term unemployed had stellar credit records previous to months or years of not being able to find a job.
Poor credit in this economy is not necessarily a sign of poor character.
Weeding out potential hires because of poor credit presents just one more obstacle to getting a job for those who are considered long term unemployed.
There are times when the obstacles to getting hired seem almost insurmountable.
