Prohibit the euthanization of animals who attack in self defense.

Created by H.N. on March 07, 2013

Far too many times, animals that are judged by behavioralists to be good tempered are euthanized because they are attacked by humans and fight back in self defense. Experts will attest to the temperament of the animals, but such testimony is often ignored, favoring instead the testimony of the human who, in their violence against the animal, merited their own injury. The animals cannot speak for themselves. They cannot attest to their own injuries. We therefore ask that cases of animal "attacks" on humans be further investigated to determine whether the creature acted in self defense. Humans can be excused for acting in self defense. Why should animals not get the same treatment simply because they cannot speak for themselves?
