Prohibit by exec. order employment discrimination by federal contractors based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

An Official High School Democrats of America petition urging President Obama to issue an executive order prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating in employment practices on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity.
Currently, an executive order prohibits federal contractors from discriminating against employees based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin, and is currently enforced by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs at the Department of Labor. Issuing an executive order that includes sexual orientation and gender identity is a critical step that the President can take today toward ending discrimination in the workplace. We ask the President to take action on this important issue.
