This petition is to prohibit home alarm system companies to be allowed to enter contracts in a automatic one year contract, once their first term contract has ended without a 60 day prior written notice that the contract will automatically renew, and for the allowance of the contract to be voided with a verbal agreement.Florida has passed a law stating service providers must include a clear and conspicuous clause in the contract specifying the terms of the automatic renewal, as well as give notice — between 30 and 60 days prior — that the contract will self-renew. This was under House Bill 751. A federal regulation needs to be made in order to protect consumers.
