Prohibit the manufacture and distribution of beer and malt liquor in forty ounce plastic bottles.

We would like to petition the Obama administration to consider action against the recent decision of Miller-Coors to alter the packaging of economy segment 32 and 40 ounce beers and malt liquors from glass to plastic. In an age where concern for the future of our planet is at a fever pitch, we view the introduction of more plastic waste into the ecosystem as an irresponsible use of resources. Miller-Coors has billed the transition as a step towards environmental sustainability, when in fact plastics are often prohibitively inefficient to repurpose. While they claim that plastic packaging will save shipping resources, cardboard is infinitely more recyclable than most plastics. Please take steps to end this reckless, thinly-veiled attempt to save cost at the expense of our planet.
