This is a petition to stop the national media from promoting the name, details and photographs of any future mass killers. It seems to many that one of the fundememtal reasons why mass shootings often take place is for the individual to be remembered for the crime. For this reason the identity of such individuals should not be released to the public at large but all the details of the shooting should be. Any individuals committing such abhorrent crimes should be identified as "the gunman" or an alternative generalization. This is to take away any chance of an individual seeking an infamous name in history.
